This has been a great exercise. It is really opening my eyes to what is available to teachers. I will be using all the technology in different ways over the course of my teaching career. I have created a blog for the parents of my science middle school students.

I kept my blog pretty simple. I want it to be used in a somewhat informal way for teachers and parents to discuss what technology means to them and how we can use it to make our lives easier. http://thoughtstheclassroom.blogspot.com/

Greetings. My blog is primarily focused on Secondary Science Education. It is in place to show individuals why "Science Needs Technology" through a series of examples of the fusion of the two in addition to a personal explanation as to why I deem it a vital part of my science classroom.

Thank you!

I enjoyed this activity and will definitely start using it with parents immediately! I think it will be great for communication and getting them involved in some of the activities and technology tools that their students are using in my class. I'd created a personal couponing and deals blog a couple of years ago but it got to be too overwhelming!

I also kept my blog simple. I agree with the articles we read that white is better. I work with students who have learning disabilities and dark colors and busy sites are difficult for them to navigate. I like the clear crisp look. My blog links is: http://zimmermanlinda.blogspot.com/

Ok so I may have had a bit *too* much fun with my blog. I did it as a way to communicate with parents. It's done like it's the very beginning of the school year. Go check it out!

This assignment has been an execellent learning opportunity for me. I wish it was placed before the website design assignment so we could use blogs as part of our websites and it would have made the website assignment a little easier by easing the anxiety of building a website for the first time.

I will definitely use blogs in all of my classrooms.

This assignment has made me realize how many ways teachers can communicate with students and parents outside of conventional methods.

I was able to use blogger.com to create a blog that discusses the pros and cons to using technology in a literature classroom. I hope everyone enjoys it. http://litandtech2013.blogspot.com/

I am surprised by how much I'm learning being as technologically disinclined as I am. My blog is geared towards parent readers. the first post is more of an editorial in which I share my opinion about the current frightening climate of schools. I invite parents to comment as well.

Although blogs are weblogs or web journals, I wonder how much of my opinion I should share and if I risk appearing unprofessional. Education is very politicized, but should I steer clear of these issues or engage in a discussion with parents? How do I regulate and facilitate comments?

It was a fun activity. It gave me an excuse to browse some of the sites I like to visit to get ideas and read about new goings on in the edu world.

The bad part was I do not really have the time to spend... Oh Well, here is my blog:

Hi Dr. Shoffner and classmates,

This is Jamie Bernhardt.

I already had a Blogger blog where I have been posting my opinions about integrating technology resources into learning contexts to enhance learning experiences. I call it "Human Application and Technology Resources" because it's about applying learning abilities and technology together, as a student or instructor.

I wrote my 2 posts on some of my current ed tech interests: game-based learning and 21st Century skills. Below are the two URLs that correspond to my two posts. For purposes beyond the assignment, feel free to browse beyond those posts.

I look forward to reading your blogs.

This was a really useful exercise. I didn't think I would like making a blog but I think it will help in the classroom in the future.

This was a good exercise. I look forward to implementing blogs in the new school year and maybe even requiring students to post blogs. I worry about plagiarism, though. Is there a check for that?
