This is the first blog I have ever made. I now realize how useful technology can be when trying to get information across to your students or parents. Students and parents spend the majority of their time on computers, phones, or other devices that have internet access. I feel they would be more prone to check the blog site then looking at the agenda or notebook in their backpack.

Feel free to take a look.

I am also new to blogging. I was surprised how easy it was and would definitely consider using it to communicate with parents. I was worried there would not be a lot of technology resources for English Language Arts but I was wrong. I found a lot of cool stuff!

I decided to create my blog for the parents of my 9th grade students. My decision was based on the fact that this group of students, and most probably parents, are more "linked-in" to technology than some of the older grades and, consequently, older parents. Since I teach at a school with strict religious values and definite negative opinions about modern technology, I thought that the blog would be a great resource for communication with parents and a positive outlet for technology in the classroom. After creating the blog, I can see the infinite potential of a running communication about the goings-on in the classroom that can be accessed at any time and any place. Instead of my parents waiting for parent-teacher conferences midway through the semester, the parents are involved from the beginning of the school year. I have no doubts that I will see changes in the students' interactions, participation, grades, etc. when their parents are more engaged in the classroom, and I am excited to initiate this technology.

Blogging is a great way to communicate and share ideas with parents, students, or other teachers. The subject of my blog is technology for teachers with limited resources. Here is a link to my blog: http://web20toolsforschools.blogspot.com/

Blogging is a great way for students to create a space for themselves that is personal but public. It is a necessary lesson for them to learn about writing for an audience. What kind of audience are they gearing their work towards? How do they deal with negative comments? How does venerability play into their work? I think there is much to be explored when using blogs in the classroom. My very first blog ever is geared more towards exploring the frustrations and benefits of using technology in the classroom- it is for parents and teachers alike.

I am new to blogging and really enjoyed this assignment! I used this blog to communicate with other teachers and parents of how to effectively use technology with k-5 students. I focused on ESOL and literacy instruction with a variety of different resources including iPads.

This is my first blog that I not only have created, but visited. I called my blog Teacher Workroom Chat because the impetus for the topics stem from the teacher break room.

I am kind of new to blogging. I created one a couple of years ago and never used it. I do think I will use this often next year in classroom. It is really easy to create and I agree with another student who said that parents will more than likely check this more than looking in a physical agenda. They can check this from work, home, or on their phone.

I have never worked on a blog before and I had many reservations to creating a blog because I am not the blogging type. I was however amazed at its usefulness and how easy it was to create. It would be a great tool to use to create an open flow of communication with students as well as parents. It also would be excellent for posting up supplementary materials that I may find beneficial to extending or aiding student learning.

Take a look! Feedback would be welcomed since this is quite knew to me.

I have usually worked on blogs for work or PTSA never just for fun. So I used this opportunity to make one for my grad school year(s) along with any cool websites I found along the way.

This is my first blog that I have made, and I tailored the blog to those in my cohort of history teachers. I discussed technology and its use in the classroom. I also specifically talked about my love of movies and the ability to incorporate these into the classrooms.
